Katherine Pye
European intervention in Africa, the Sahel, security assistance, development, EU-Africa relations.
Katherine Pye is an associate fellow at the Centre for European Reform in London and a doctoral researcher in International Relations at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), where she works on the EU’s intervention in the Sahel since 2012. Her research interests include the history and politics of European intervention in Africa, the conflict in the Sahel, international security assistance and EU-Africa relations.
Prior to doctoral work, Katherine was Clara Marina O’Donnell Fellow at the CER 2020-21 and worked on civil protection and crisis management at the Council of the EU in Brussels. Katherine holds an MA in EU International Relations and Diplomacy from the College of Europe (Bruges) and a BA in History and Politics from Magdalen College, Oxford.
