Expert: Minsk talks on Ukraine possible only due to Belarus' neutral position
According to Charles Grant, Europe is grateful to Belarus for its neutral position on the Ukrainian crisis. Only Belarus' position made the two rounds of Minsk talks possible.
The CER head said that the agreements reached in Minsk are the only thing Ukraine has on its way to peace today.
In his words, the Ukrainian crisis opened for Europe the fact that Belarus chooses its way independently and plays “its independent part.” In this respect Charles Grant believes that the European Union should act more selectively.
