Last year was a difficult one for Ukraine, and 2025 promises to be at least as challenging. Donald Trump has threatened to cut US support for Kyiv and has suggested that Ukraine should give up its occupied territories and its aspirations to join NATO in order to cut a quick deal with Vladimir Putin's Russia. Many European governments, but not all, see such an outcome as merely the prelude to further Russian aggression. Our panellists will discuss what Europe can do to ensure that Ukraine's position strengthens in 2025, and how Kyiv and its European partners might cope with any reduction in US assistance.
